Giovanni Rosso is a small, family-owned winery passed down through four generations, maintaining a steadfast commitment to producing premium wines. Established in Piedmont in 1906, they have honed their winemaking over a century, earning a reputation for excellence. In 2016, the family expanded their passion for terroir-driven wines by purchasing premium vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, continuing to create exceptional wines that reflect the unique characteristics of these distinguished regions.

Ester Canale Rosso Vignarionda Barolo DOCG

Born from one of the most revered crus in Serralunga d’Alba, Barolo Ester Canale Rosso is the culmination of nearly a century of dedication and deep-rooted family heritage. From the legendary Vignarionda vineyard—parcel 251—this Barolo is made from seventy-year-old vines whose roots anchor generations of passion and perseverance.

TASTING NOTES

Elegant aromas of rose, violet wild berry jam, and balsamic nuances unfold alongside hints of licorice root and white truffle. On the palate, it offers a superb and delicate progression, with a harmonious balance of softness, vibrant tension, and savory depth.

PAIRING NOTES

Barolo’s depth and structure make it a versatile partner for richly flavored dishes. It pairs beautifully with slow-braised short ribs, smoked brisket with a cherry glaze, or herb-crusted pork tenderloin. Grilled lamb chops, duck breast with fig compote, and mushroom and truffle risotto all highlight the wine’s earthy complexity.

Ester Canale Rosso Langhe Nebbiolo DOC

An elegant expression of Vignarionda’s youth and promise, Ester Canale Rosso Nebbiolo Langhe DOCG offers a rare glimpse into the future of one of Barolo’s greatest crus. Produced in extremely limited quantities from newly replanted vines alongside preserved heritage rows, this wine reveals the depth and complexity that made the site legendary.

TASTING NOTES

An intense and expressive bouquet opens with notes of red rose, blackberry, wild strawberry, and ripe peach, layered with sweet spices. The palate is refined and vibrant, offering a soft entry that unfolds into a vigorous expression of fresh fruit, supported by gentle tannins and a lingering finish. 

PAIRING NOTES

For cheese varieties strong blue veined styles, or a well-aged Vermont cheddar. Rich options such as a cave-aged gouda also stand up beautifully to Barolo’s structure.  Equally splendid with vegetarian dishes like stuffed portobello mushrooms or polenta with thyme and sage.

Single vineyard Barolo from one of the most esteemed sites expression with diverse vine plantings from 1984, 1996, and 2003, adding to the complexity of flavors.

TASTING NOTES

Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, mint, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is powerful with elegant tannins and a persistent finish.

PAIRING NOTES

Aromas of ripe raspberry, plums, cocoa powder, and peppery hints. Savory and well-structured juicy flavors.

Donna Margherita Barbera d’Alba DOC

Named after Davide Rosso's (winery principal) great aunt, this juicy and characterful red is the everyday wine of the Barolo region.

TASTING NOTES

Barbera is one of the most popular grapes in the region, adored by locals for its supple fruit and easy-drinking style. Lush, ripe red cherry flavors are beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity, culminating in a long, juicy finish.

PAIRING NOTES

Its vivid acidity is a wonderful contrast to hearty dishes like grilled steak or mushroom risotto. Pair it with eggplant parmesan or a richly flavored lasagna to provide a refreshing counterpoint that enhances the overall meal.

Etna Bianco DOP

Volcanic wines: The vineyards are planted around an extinct volcano crater on unique lava and sandy soils, expressing smoky notes. Made from the Carricante grape.

The wine has expressive yellow flower aromas with bright citrus and fresh grass notes. It has an intense palate and a long finish.
